The City of Helsinki’s water pipe to Tervasaari has frozen, and the restaurant has been without water for two weeks already. Unfortunately, we have had to close the doors of TAR, and at this time it is not known when the city will be able to fix the issue.
We have done everything we can on our end and have also tried alternative methods to bring water to the site, but this is by no means a sustainable solution, nor is it financially feasible.
This has already caused - and will continue to cause - enormous losses, and it is also a tragedy for our staff, as employees have been laid off and all the food preparations they had made had to be thrown away.
We have not yet received any response from the City of Helsinki regarding next steps. We will provide updates as soon as we receive more information.
